Welcome to my website! My name is Janette Havelská. I was born in Czechoslovakia, but I currently live in Dordrecht, The Netherlands. You can see both countries reflected in my art: The picturesque Central European towns and landscapes and the “golden age” centers of historic towns in The Netherlands.

With my paintings I seek to evoke the feeling of positivity and optimism in the otherwise challenging world. I am inspired by the warm colours reflected by the setting sun, when the day is slowly coming to an end. The vibrance of nature with its perfect imperfection makes me use uneven brush strokes. I want you to experience the desire to be there, to walk on that path, to smell the forrest leaves, to feel the sun on your cheeks, to stroll the streets of our ancestors. Moreover, I want you, just for a while, to forget your worries and enjoy what our world has to offer. A moment for yourself.
